  • Embodied Counselling

I believe that safe relationships are fundamental for healing and recovery. Therefore, my approach to counselling is relational. I aim to foster an authentic, safe space that is non-judgmental, collaborative and person-centred.

I provide practical tailored support based on each individual needs and choices. Informed by the neurobiology of trauma, polyvagal theory, anti-racist, anti-oppressive and feminist theories, and trauma informed approaches to psychotherapy, I utilise a range of therapeutic approaches including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), relational, somatic and mindfulness based approaches.

I specialise in working with people who have experienced childhood abuse and neglect, domestic, family and sexual violence, developmental trauma, anxiety, depression and other mental health challenges. I have experience working with people of varying bodies, identities, neurotypes and backgrounds.

  • Trauma Sensitive Yoga

Experiences of trauma can profoundly change our relationship with our body. Developed by the Justice Institute’s Trauma Centre, Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is an empirically validated clinical treatment for complex trauma and treatment resistance PTSD. It has been shown to reduce the symptoms of PTSD, while allowing individuals to safety reconnect with their body. TCTSY gives individuals an opportunity to be present with their body, practice authentic connection, choice making and taking effective action, all within a supported environment.

You can find more information about TCTSY and research supporting this modality here.

I offer TCTSY sessions as part of embodied counselling, as stand alone individual sessions and in small groups. Please contact me for more information on options to practice TCTSY.
